Groundbreaking Ceremony Has Been Held for Varto Vocational School

The groundbreaking ceremony for Varto Vocational School has been held after a lengthy and exciting wait. Members of the provincial protocol attended the ceremony organized on Saturday, October 23, 2021.

Our rector, Prof. Dr. Fethi Ahmet Polat, and the Governor of Muş, Assoc. Prof. Dr. İlker Gündüzöz were present at the ceremony along with other participants including President of the Red Crescent in Turkey, Dr. Kerem Kınık, Deputy Mayor of Muş, Aydın Özarslan, Gıyasettin Bingölballı, a charitable business person, Varto District Governor, Mehmet Güder, Provincial Police Chief, Engin Kaloğlu, Provincial Military Police Commander, Colonel İlhan Şen, our vice rector, Murad Aydın Şanda, Director of Varto Vocational School, Assoc. Dr. Nevin Turan Özek, our university's Secretary General Harun Demir, Cengiz Koç, Board Member of Red Crescent in Turkey, Provincial Mufti, Lütfü İmamoğlu, Provincial Director of Youth and Sports, Emrullah Güler, Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism, Mehmet Şengül, Bursa Provincial Chairman of AK Party, Davut Gürkan, Muş Provincial Chairman of the Nationalist Movement Party, Osman Yüce, and President of Muş Foundation, Dr. Orhan Sami Gültekin, as well as members of the press, Varto Federations and local people of Varto.

The groundbreaking ceremony for Varto Vocational School, located on a wide area and having advanced equipment and infrastructure, was watched with interest by all guests, especially local people. Speaking at the ceremony, Rector Polat said he was happy that the groundbreaking ceremony of the modern school building, which had been needed for a long time, was finally realized. Rector Polat stated that with the completion of the construction, students of the Varto Vocational School, who had been using the facilities of other academic units in our university, would eventually have their own building. Rector Polat finished his speech by saying, "Varto Vocational School that is an important part of Muş Alparslan University with its high occupancy rate and quality academic units will soon have the modern and well-equipped home that it deserves. I think that their new building, which both our students and academic staff are eagerly waiting for, will be worth the wait. I believe that this distinguished vocational school deserves the best. I hope that our new building will be beneficial for our students, academics and our people.

Following the prayers, the ceremony was completed with Governor Gündüzöz's stating his best wishes as the members of the provincial protocol and local people cheered and applauded.
